Very Interesting use to model millitary equipment in oo mainly tanks moving by rail also collected locos from the LMR(Longmoor Military Railway) I don,t know if this is any good but I think Trumpeter the Russian Kit Manufacturer does a range if Railway Kits mainly german ww2 Military ) Ranging from a Kriegslok to wagons and big guns think to a scale of ither 1/32 or 1/24 could be used or adapted for G scale

I also used to model 1/35th AFV's (mostly Tamiya). These are very interesting projects and something different to most rolling stock. Very interesting and good modelling standards too .

Well done, Genesis, very impressive! You could even show us pics with those guns in place for a theoretical 'battle'.
I might add some pics I've been gathering:
1st the railway gun I found in the Navy museum in Washington

@ Marcus:

great pictures of an interesting machine!

@Gen:
i always think about a millitary train on my line, because of the (theoretical true but just a story for my RR) background of my RR: it goes over a pass where once a big Fort was placed to have a tactical operation point noone could reach (Weminuche Pass in the San Juan mountains).

But because of technical and historical developments, the fort lost its sense and was used just for training issues. Such as transporting men and maachines through the mountains with a RR.....

Those freelance models are ... considering the background of sometimes a bit wild, ridiciolus or just mighty constructions ... predestinated to give a spirit of the military advisors and inventors arround the WW1.
AND they are predestinated to do it on low-budget.

I like your work...maybe on my RR i will have to the one or other gun up to the fort....

Greetings

Frank

Thanks, Frank! :)

Nr. 2, I think this one went for 200€ the other day on German ebay. (There was one on ebay.co.uk last week that didn't sell + I thought it not being that good. See ebay link below.)

PLUS, there were on German ebay a whole lot of camouflage wagons etc for sale. If one wants to mount a whole armoured railwaygun division, it is possible, there's stuff out there!

Genesis1210, what excellent results! A very special branch of model-making indeed and a real stimulus to a bit of lateral thinking here...

What I can promise is a couple of NATO rail containers, design work and advice from Chris Moxham let me say, when I complete wiring-up the 'permanent way'. Pictures of those may have to wait awhile at this rate.

Thank you for posting this topic,

Alec K

If you have plans for any of those, I'd be interested in purchasing some. I was giving some thought to one of the Wickam armored cars.

Great modelling, and unusual subject matter too. Very interesting.
