There is a lot that is 'coming soon' in the manual..

It only really discusses connecting them in the middle car of the Allegra set.. I can't remember offhand if there are pickups on the front / rear cars.. I would need to check on the mini review / install post I did.

A little eye-watering if you were to fit in the whole unit!

I'll have to fire up the translator (my wife!). ;)

As for picking up power in the front and rear units, I think one could use the wires that feed the external plugs (the ones behind the removable Canton shields) for the front and rear displays. For the other two side displays in the end units one could tap into the same plug locations that are empty on the middle car, as the motorblocks are plugged into them for the end units.

Hopefully as you say, Loco, they will bring out a complete backfitting plan for the Allegra. At the current price, it's all just theoretical for me anyway! :'( ;)

I agree, the price is high even with the introduction discount :o. I think the Allegra set would look impressive with these displays if they work fine together without any conflicts or out of sync issues, and I'm looking forward to see a video of a complete conversion. Maybe it would encourage me to save up to this. Let's see, €20 per month ... and I will be able to buy a set of four only 2 years from now.

Thinking of a pair for either end.. I think having them down the sides would be overkill..

I note from the manual, they suggest 161 as the value for the locking CV's.. Exactly the same value suggested in the Pulsed Smoke unit if you have two smokers fitted!! ::)

Hmm - not very automated. That would be a very expensive solution for little benefit. There would have to be simpler and cheaper ways to achieve manually operated station boards. If that is all it could do, it is clearly not an economic solution for use in stations - especially if you have a lot of stations. I have 20 or so.
Fortunately for me I only have one Station that it would benefit. Thus the two in the set would work nicely, one for Trains from the East the other for Trains from the West. All being Driven by the mythical Station Master. If it is indeed programable, I can still see this as an Operationally worthwhile item.

You say that now, Phil, but we both know what will happen about one week after you've put those two in...
