Hi all,
I am trying to upgrade one of my XLS chips with new firmware. I am running 2.5 at the moment.
I have V2.72, 2.9, 2.91, 3.5 and 3.6 and am attempting to upgrade to 2.72 initially.
I set my loco up on the programming track connected to my 800z Central station and then initiate the firmware process using the Massoth Service tool via a laptop connected via USB to the serial port. I have successfully upgraded the Central station and the navigator handset recently using this same setup.
I am simply getting the failure sequence in the tool regardless of which version I attempt to load.
Is there some sort of unlocking required for the chip to accept an upgrade?
Should I be able to upgrade from 2.5 to 2.72 using this setup?
The Massoth "hotline" is , as ever, silent on the matter (I am thinking they should perhaps re-name this service to the "buy something else next time" hotline .....).
