The maximum voltage of the smoke generator is 18 VDC. I tested it at 5 VDC and works fine.
Different topic, are you the owner of GardenRailOutlet?
I asked because I tried to buy, there was a problem in shipping, message says something like "The shipping is not set for the destination". I would like to know how much it will cost to shipped here in California USA the items I would like to purchase.

I thought your CV numbering seem off.
So here what I did:
First steps:
Set CV53=6 (A1 + A2 Dimming value), (5 volts)
Set CV56=8 (Output 2) and
Set CV57=0 (Special Function 2)
Connect smoke generator to FA2
Activate F8, the smoke generator fan runs but no smoke.

Second steps:
Set CV56=8 (Output 2)
Set CV53=70 (Dimming A1 (5 volts) only and leave A2 at track voltage)
Activate F7 uncoupler works.
Activate F8 the sounds shut off and the Navigator inoperable.
Reset Navigator

Experiment:
Putting value from 6 to 9 at CV53, both units works (no smoke), without shutting off the sounds and disabling Navigator. Putting value at CV53 beyond 9 both units does not work. What are your thoughts about these? Thanks again, Ben
 
Are you overloading the decoder when you switch on the smoke unit. I have not had any experience of these - how much current do they pull when on? If its more the 0.6A then you are overloading he decoder.

If you program everything up as per "second step", connect the uncoupler but NOT the smoke unit press F8, is there still an issue?

I would try connecting the smoke unit to the track via a relay to switch it on/off you won't then pull too much current through the decoder.

That was on my mind that either of the two units is overloading the decoder. Yes, I tried smoke unit only and uncoupler only and there still an issue on both units if I increase the supply voltage.
I thought about putting a relay and looking at eMotion Relay Board 8242040. The only thing holding me back is the cost of that relay. I am looking for alternative.
