Just to add a couple of other points:

  • When I hit Update the window that opens says "decoder programming"
  • I just tried updating the PC Module itself and got the same response (error code 117)
  • I tried deleting the COM ports and re-booting with no improvement
I have a feeling I have missed something fundamental but have no idea what.

Version 1.91 01.12.2014

Version 1.92 01.03.2015

Version 2.00 22.03.2016

Version 2.01 14.03.2018

Version 2.10 11.06.2019

Picture database latest update February 2021

Firmware Update:

The DiMAX Navigator updated with the latest firmware version directly via the bus.

To perform the Firmware update using the PC Module,
press and hold down the "RIGHT STOP” key when connecting the Navigator via the bus cable.

Screen will display:

**************************************
D I M A X 400H - Software Update...
**************************************

The Software version and the serial number is shown when the Navigator starts.

Starting from the left hand side of the screen.

Left = Serial Number, Right = Version.

Holding down the "F-KEY" will show the initial screen for a longer time.

In R/C mode the version is shown when the Navigator is shut down.

Error code 117, first port of call, would be to exchange the cable, has been known for a particular batch of cables that work under normal conditions, go AWOL when carrying out the Firmware Updates.

Error code 117 when carrying out decoder updates usually indicates incorrect order or sequence of updates.

Version 2.06 refers to the bottom line of Navigator information, not relevant, and is not the Firmware Revision ID.

Thank you. That pins it down a bit because the RIGHT STOP key on connection is not resulting in the Software Update screen you show above. Will try a change of cable.
