Just a man in the middle of a complicated plan.

Have got 8 NQ 7 window harz coaches a few years ago and realizing that the HSB only has 4, something had to be done if I ever got round to numbering stock as per prototype, so out with Mr Hacksaw!!

once in bits, I cut the base out by running a knife down between the sides and base as shown below.

and cut the window section to be removed

and after that I removed the lower part of the ends to drop over the chassis, as I had decided to lower the coach by 10mm as well

I'm now praying my skill level is good enough to get it back in one lump!!

Now to the chassis,

more worrying!!

Cutting in the middle and having an over lap to give more strength and placing a strip cut from the old base to fit in the I section of the chassis to give a fixing point to the body when remounted.

The roof was then shortened and with a fret saw the moldings moved to their new locations

on the inside the seating which holds the glazing in place had to be cut down(on the left)

a refit was done and a loo added

the hole thing was put back together and new hand rails fitted, just need new HSB transfares placing in the centre (anyone know where to get them?) and gates, but I'm pleased with the result and all done in a week off work.
