Riograndad
Model Railroading, boats and oil painting,

I needed a western look town,at least a street on the railroad,i looked at kits and pre built bits and decided that custom made was the way to go,after a measure up of avaliable room i had, went out and brought 60/80thou plasticard and strip, tube, square tube in bulk, looked on the net for western ghost towns and made a start, didnt want all to look the same,so made one structure at a time. All wood look was wanted, apart from the bank,so 1cm boards marked an scribed, window and door openings cut then grain obtained using thin craft knife and needle files, normal way i do wooden boards, the general store was the first, door and window frames made in the same way, boardwalks too,the bank was made from 4MM scale dressed stone, and the flag,,,,,yes,10thou plasticard heated over the cooker untill it draped, then painted! All the adverts, lettering hand done with small brushes,no spray weathering on here, all brushed, all fully glazed, now installed on the railroad, overall about 40inches long, all lit with 6v rechargable box battery,10 BULBS including street lights last about 4 hrs per charge, just right for an evening run.Will/may sort some interiors over the summer,if time permits, welcome to Apache Falls.
