Madman's Railway- Furthest Visit?

Hi All,

So Dan very kindly put me up for a couple of days after a business trip in the US.

He lives in a beautiful home (I won't post pics for privacy reasons) but take my word it is fantastic - and he BUILT it HIMSELF!

The railway is a cracker and by UK standards really big and packed with detail. Also Dan needs to post you all some low aspect night shots as it is lit in a really atmospheric way and even has a power plant that smokes. My battery was flat when we were out there so Dan needs to post some pics.

So door to door it was car-train-cab-plane-bus-car 18hrs - longest ever gscalecentral visit?

Thanks again Dan and here is his railway- as Dan said himself it comes to life in Summer but I think it looks good now:

Oh and while we are talking Dan I included the GG1 which is a favrouite loco- it thundered up and down the NE Corridor when Dan was a lad...

He has his own GG1? In his house? Now we know why he is called Madman:rolf::rolf::rolf:

Thanks for your kind words Ian. I really enjoyed our adventures. I'll try to get some night shots soon.

Gary, it's funny you mention a GG1 at my house. I only wish. When The GG1s were taken out of service, in 1983, I asked SWMBO if I could explore the remote possibilty of getting one to place in a little used area of our property. For the kids to play on, you know. I was met with one of her looks and silence. Then when the railroads were discontinuing the use of cabooses, I tried once more. This time she must have thought that I could actually pull it off, because I got an emphatic NO!

LOL a GG1 at your house- that would have been awesome. But yes I think that would be a very hard sale to make to any wife!
