!!!MADE IN CHINA!!!

Country flag
And he's proud of that ?????

You're making the assumption here that the seller is proud of it or extolls it as virtue?

The seller could simply be using block caps and excalamation marks to make it very very clear to potential buyers that this is not a German made example?

I just think it an amusing practice. he does the same with ones made elsewhere.

Ahhhhhh I sent a question seeking confirmation that the Item was infact of Chinese manufacture. Obviously it didn't copy and paste......

I'm not full bottle on LGB but I would like one of these for my tramway but the price is daunting and I'm on a pension.

Oh I agree entirely mate, very odd. Could he not just put the "Made in China" bit in lower case or state "Not German Made" or summat.

It does look a bit like the he's saying "Weeehaay it's made in China :party: "

He sells on US Ebay also. His prices are usually high, but he gives good service.

And as an added bonus it is definatley Chinese manufacture...

He told me so!
Seriously how much is one of these worth? I'd love to get hold of one but not at that price......

Trev,

Grootspoor has the non Christmas version advertised for 609 Euro; Trainworld in the US has the Christmas one for $US 599.99. Best act before the pollies start taxing imports under $1000!

Steve

Don't worry Steve.
That will not get through. Not unless the OZ States are willing to pay for it.
Still costs more to process than the tax resulting.
Even if they did, there will be ways around it. One major hobby supplier in China allows you to nominate what maximum value you would like placed on the goods being sent. That would be illegal of course but won't stop the bargain hunters taking a chance. I know of some importers that take advantage of such malpractice right now, with goods worth more than A$1000.

I have bought couple of things from him in the past with no problems.
