The loco is a USA Trains GP9 in SF scheme and it was hauling four cars and a van.

We returned home 26 days later, to find the train still running round, covered with bird cr&p and sundry dirt from the many showers that had happened - it was June in UK after all.

Nossir. NO derails. My track was circular with only the one point that it approached from the facing direction. No points = no reason the derail.

Love the bit about the birds.

Some of the birds in my garden ignore the trains as long as I don't go to fast.
Sometimes they come right up to it and nip over the top to carry on their business. :D
