I love both station buildings.
And the whole detailed scene around the old station is great.

I Look forward to seeing the new station detailed.

Is the new station a replacement for the old one, or is it a new (additional) station at a different location?
cheers
peter

A little more progress earlier today. Always make your passing loops as long as you can !

Okay. So I have a rudimentary circuit complete with spiral. Obviously lots to do but it helps if you have running possibilities. The gradient is around 1 in 24 up the spiral so anti clockwise running will be best as the other gradient is about 1 in 40.
I haven’t decided whether to use postcrete as ballast or gardeners grit.
probanly the postcrete as the grit will disappear down the crevices of the rocks.
Ofcourse this is only the start - there will be lots of add ins of all descriptions yet.......46770837-64BE-4854-BD9B-BD0467D4CB9C.jpegE86FD304-A008-443C-AB3A-7780C1D242BF.jpeg

If you were to expand your spiral, to more of an oval this would reduce your gradient.

My thinking as well. You've got plenty of space there, Paul.

I like my locos to work hard
But as I say if I run long trains anti clockwise and short trains clockwise, no worries.

You will also remember that on the original Linz Gstadt Bahn I had 1 in 24 gradients. The perfect excuse to double head trains. 2BB404D7-5AD5-47D2-8D78-04E43242A1E5.jpegC9221ACD-9C43-4497-BD86-5E67E2977914.jpeg

Thinking long-term...
I fear the track is a little close to the tree? - Or conversely, the tree is a little close to the track?:giggle:

It’s all good guys. It will be at least 10-15 years before the tree gets a big enough girth. If it does, I will either cut it down or saw a gauge clearance curve into the trunk.
There are lots of possibilities in our garden for expansion.
I think a line into the shed via a securely gated tunnel mouth to provide rolling stock storage (so I don’t have to store the stock after every running session).
I am using a mix of Massoth rail clamps at all R3 points, usat track with the little Allen key bolts and LGB fishplates with LGB conductive grease on all joints. If I get a dry joint at any time I automatically replace with a Massoth rail clamp.
