Hi a question about links to the internet, when I add a link I use this 1613379383752.png and the link comes out something like this:
Playmobil 4010 2.4 ghz Conversion – Tumble Down Falls

However some people links don't just have the link but a small box and description as below (courtesy of dunnyrail dunnyrail )

My question is, am I using the wrong link or code, or is this just from certain websites. :) :)

Hm interesting question Jimmy, something I wonder about. That link was certainly to a Forum so that may be the difference as I get both types of link as you do.

Does the link icon put a 'classic' blue html link in the text, but a URL, copied from the address bar of a browser session, put the 'enhanced' shortcut in?

We probably need Paul, to give us a lesson in 21st Century mark-up? ;)

Where would I find that link thing? It's not something I've come across before. The closest is the paperclip on my emails. So far the only options I was aware of were copy/paste the stuff at the top and occasionally the share button.

Hm just a little test. All done on my iPad. Just click on each link will show how the page looks, just copied and pasted the links on here. Nit sure that this is completely exhaustive!

This is how it appears if using the 'link' Icon

Playmobil 4010 2.4 ghz Conversion – Tumble Down Falls

OTHER IRISH NARROW GAUGE RAILWAYS - Paul Johnson

The following appears using the 'copy and paste' technique.

Yeah, I don't understand things like links, I didn't think it was a golf topic

All I've ever done is copy and paste the URL and I've got the box with piccy and description like wot Jon says :nod:

Yup Rhino all very confusing.

So the mystery is solved (well at least for me :)):

  • Use the link button and the standard link in blue underlined.
  • Copy and paste a link and you get the box
Many thanks it looks like The Shed The Shed provided the answer.
You can get back to playing golf then :):)

That's all I ever do - copy and paste. Simple is, what Simple does!
