limited edition sound

Hi all,

Has anyone had any luck acquiring a replacement sound decoder on a limited edition item? Bought the LGB 29272 in September 2017 from FGB Berlin, and I'm damned if I can find a way to get the correct sound file for this item :( From what I'm learning, MLGB keep the sound files on limited edition items under lock and key... but are they literally impossible to get hold of?

Thoughts most appreciated.

Best wishes,

Alex

This Massoth should do the trick, it is what I put in mine.

But it won't load into a MLGB decoder!

If your decoder has failed.. Then ask MLGB to supply a replacement. - It may mean sending the failed unit to them?
OR
Replace the decode with a Massoth unit, with the file Jon linked to..

PhilP.

Thanks both.

But yes - the Massoth wouldnt fit nicely onto the mfx board. Will try contacting MLGB themselves. They take yonks to reply to an email -might give them a phone.

Thanks all,

Alex

That is true, you just strip it all out and use the Massoth Chip, all screw fit and pretty easy to fit.

Ok interesting, thanks. I think the problem is going to be getting the sound of the DFB5 loco programmed onto the decoder. I'm not sure if it's generic or not, to be honest.

I may be wrong, but doesn’t the Massoth XLS-M1 have an interface that’s compatible with the MLGB MFX equipment?

I might go for this, you know. Mfx decoders are nowt but trouble, in my experience. Do Massoth pre-programme the sound file for you? I'd just like a steam-rack sound file, as LGB won't supply me with the 29272 sound file as it was limited edition... :wasntme:

I am sure you could get one of these with your choice of soundfile..

Give Mark a ring.
Would be one suggestion. - You may need to 'fiddle' with lighting divider values, and such-like to get lights to do what you want.. :nerd:

The one I linked is the ref number for the Rack Loco, Massoth come pre-loaded with the sound.

You can use the Maerklin Decoder Programmer. The link to the Decoder Programmer is here:

Even though it says it is for HO in fact it is used on other scales.
