LGB65000 European Steam Sound Unit & DCC

A question from the resident DCC dummy

I recently bought a 2nd hand LGB steam loco with an LGB 65000 steam sound unit in the cab, now it works fine on my analogue branch line but when I put it on the DCC main line , No Sound , the loco is fitted with a factory installed decoder. Q. how do I get sound in DCC mode ?

You need to program the sound unit separately from the decoder, but you need to make sure that they have the same address. Assuming that you've got the sound unit wired in to the track side of the decoder.

Sorted , as per Tony's instructions. My new u class is chuffing its way around the garden as I type, incidentley a stealth purchase that nobody has spotted , even with sound ! Now could I get away with a new 2-10-2 without it being spotted ?
