Anyone want to hazard a guess as to how long the Barrel Car has been in the siding at Priory Station at the CFR?image.jpeg

Hmmm, I reckon the contents of the barrel have leaked out....

3 years? And he's still clearing up the mess from the night the CFR Staff Association decided to empty it! :)

A long time.....LOL

Probably as long as the CFR has been in existence, and that exceed my memory.

I signed up to G Scale Mad, I think, somewhere around 2003.

Very very close. It actually went into its current position in April 2001. It is cable tied to the track and has permanently attached lighting which is connected to the lighting circuit for the buildings. The sheltered side of the coach is far less weathered than the exposed side.

Time to turn it around, then, and weather the other side.

When we were down south, there is very little air pollution, and so the rain actually cleans your car - so you need to turn it around in between showers to get both sides done :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

This also happens on North Norfolk Railway passenger rolling stock.

The seaward side of coaches weathers more due to the salty atmosphere than the landward side....

Quality lasts ...still looking good

5. Still saving for a G scale Engerth 0-8+4 :D:D:D

There was one of the Regner (electric version) kits on sale at the members' stand at G-Rail a couple of years back - I was sorely tempted but there was no way of knowing whether it was 100% complete, and I passed on it.... it didn't sell, because later it turned up in GRS' secondhand listings, still in kit form, where it still didn't sell because quite recently I noticed that they'd given it to somebody to build, and were then selling it as fully assembled and running, with a Massoth XLS installed. Seems to have gone from their site now, so somebody obviously found the money to pay what they were asking for it (which from memory was about two and a half grand or so....).

Jon.

Yes, someone on the forum had one - but it didn't work well, and Paul (Stainz) put a Rugens mechanism in his :nod:

This one. Before I converted to track power I couldn't get it to light and the other Regner Stainz was a poor runner. It is far better with track power digital sound and a 24 volt smoke unit.
