Ive managed to acquire an R3 point (gratis) which is in pretty good nick, but the spring is knackered in the blades.
Are these easy to replace? Just thought i'd ask before I try to take it apart :)

What make is it? LGB and Aristo have the spings in the control box at the side so it could just mean you hace to replace that if its a Peco one its inbetween the sleepers and can be replaced fairly easy if you can find a replacment?

Ahh thanks Steve. Im glad I didnt take it apart then, cause the switch control is actually missing. I just assumed it would be in between the blades (per piko).

As it happens, it matters not. After some careful analysis of the track plan I now have, I found one spot where I can use it without repair, cause it will only ever be run through in the trailing direction

(for 'only ever', please read 'one of these days ill forget, run something the wrong way, and have a big incident')

Electro Mez. They dont isolate one road when you switch the blades.

I havent...need to get some! The fact that they dont isolate (along with a bunch of other reasons) is why I decided to go DCC after much to-ing and fro-ing.

Passing loop, or reverse loop? A passing loop wont cause a short....but a reverse will.
