LGB have announced a new Saxon VIk running No 212 cat no 20481 and two coaches to complement cat nos 31354 and 31353 wood sided bogie coaches in epoch 1 livery

Wow, love the green....
Another wood box certificate ltd yadda offering....

YET......i need to think about this.
Missed the saxon conductors coach last go round despite having ordered and been confirmed.

Marklin digital.....Another bother.....

Hard to buy this level and be concerned about future parts.
My attempts to obtain parts directly with marklin have been fruitless.

I wonder if the new LGB RhB G 4/5 is produced from the old Brawa molds.
The two models look almost identical from photos. I guess if they were accurate models of the prototypes, they should look identical.

We had a Brawa one running on the Ruschbahn and to my eye you could not fault it. Well except for the small bits that kept getting broken off and not knowing where to refit them! Now currently a shelf queen in Somerset till the new Railway is built.

I seem to remember LGB were developing one and showed a prototype around the same time as the Brawa model came out, and the LGB one was canned - maybe it's resurrected? does indeed look very similar to the Brawa model though.

metal valve gear! not usual for M/LGB. Nice.

While I have no firm evidence for this assumption, I'm pretty sure that the new M/LGB one is going to be a re-issue of the Brawa one, possibly with some re-engineering in places to fix the problems that the Brawa version had; similarly I think that the new coaches being produced for it will also be from the old Brawa moulds, hopefully with a change of plastic materials in some areas to make them a little more robust......
It appears to me that M/LGB have bought or acquired the Brawa moulds and decided to re-use them.

Jon.

Obviously the LGB drivetrain will be totally different with Buhler motor.
The first Brawa model had issues with it's motor when running with a DCC set-up so those were recalled and re-fitted with a Maxon motor with belt drive.
The Brawa's gearboxes are inline, similar if not the same as in the AristoCraft mikado etc.

Try Arcadia rail 01706882900 for the conductors coach he is on holiday next week

Hi Jon,

There will also be 2 new additional coaches. So there will not be much change from EUR2K

Martin

Is there a link to the two new coaches on M/LGB's site? For some reason I couldn't find even the page about the green VIk when I actually went to the website, though I could go to it directly by clicking on the link posted early in this thread......

Jon.
