I never knew these existed - I had thought that LGB's only cartoon tie-ins were with Disney and Schultz (Peanuts/Snoopy). Fascinating stuff, not my thing to collect but it's amazing how much special and limited-edition LGB there has been over the years....

Was there not an "LCE" in "Super Hero" livery?

Yes, I think you're right, I recall seeing it now, possibly in one of the last LGB Depesche issues - covered in either DC or Marvel characters......?

There was also a Looney Tunes Toytrain release featuring Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner. This was the 94108 ACME Explosives wagon and was limited to just 1000 models. Although this was a special release, it came in a standard green Toytrain box.

The Taz tender is a little odd as it doesn't match the loco livery, mind you it's a fairly odd assortment colour wise all through.
I do like the caboose though :) thanks for posting as I never knew they existed either.

The Looney Tunes and Super Heroes 'LCE' items were originally meant to be marketted through Warner Bros. franchise stores. Well, the stores went the way of the dodo bird and so the items started popping up on eBay. The Looney Tunes items have a strong following and demand keeps prices pretty high. The Super Heroes 'LCE' set does not attract the same attention, although some sellers think that it has gold bars as onboard weight and price them accordingly.
