LGB bogie and 2 axle coaches - Austrian prototypes...

Hi guys - as I mentioned in my first thread on here I'm starting a G-scale project with my father and daughter this Christmas.

We've got a LGB starter set (with Stainz, coach and wagon) and a small Liliput diesel. I'd like to get a couple of extra items of rolling stock but I can't afford to buy new. I've got my eye on a few e-bay items but thought I'd enquire on here too!

I'm after LGB stuff, 2-axle please (sharp curves) and European prototype...
The small Zillertalbahn coaches, or even starter set coaches.
I'd like a gravel hopper, open goods wagon, a flat wagon or a brake van/van.

Please PM me on here if you can help :)
Cheers,

James

Ebay can be quite good for popular LGB items - just work out what you think its worth and STICK TO IT, another will be along soon. Prices sometimes go silly - track, for example, often sells at or above new cost.
Patience is called for. Not always easy at Christmas.

James ,

These are on ebay not LGB but look and run very well .No problems with R1 curves

Hi James I can help with all of the wagons you need I have a large collection of LGB that I am thinning out. I can do you a pair of starter set coaches a hopper, Gondola, open goods and a brake/postal wagon prices as follows

Starter set coaches $30 each
open gondola $30 each I have 3
hopper Grey new in box $50.00
Postal/Brake $60.00 This has metal wheels and lights inside

I also have lot's of other LGB cars available as well I don't do list's but just give me a pm or a post on your thread about what you need, i am not a trader just wishing to downsize, the postage is what is usually the killer on sending stuff to the UK for all of the above it will be about $60.00 but I will only charge what it costs me to send it to you. I have sold a lot of stuff to people on the forum over the years and have had no problems just ask on the forum if your unsure.............Paul.........Minimans........

Hi James,

DodgEbay is a very good place to look. But before you start get PayPal and try to use only this as a payment method. The protection for you is worth the effort and cost.

Also think outside the UK. I buy most from eBay.de. Yes it helps if you can read and write in German. However you will very quickly lean a new langauge  I would be happy to provide a stock E-Mail for you to send to any seller you wish to contact. Down side - next to the USA, German postage make UK postage look good value for money :crying: Up side - choice, right now there are 14,345 item under " Modellbau > Spur G

Regards

Alex

Re:LGB 2 axle coaches and wagons European prototypes...

Alexander, given Sarr valley and the spelling of Schoeneck (translates as 'nice corner') I think we must be neighbours?
Anyway, Piko has decent relatively cheap new blah blah blah
Me, I buy off Ebay.de by setting a search and a fixed price - I also usually buy from someone who has two or more articles to save on post. Patience pays, it's the truth!

Re:LGB 2 axle coaches and wagons European prototypes...

pugwash has a valid point, German post is by weight. Given the wagons you are looking for you could get 3 from a single seller for the same postage as a single item.

Sarr is French Saar in German. Schoeneck is 1 km inside that part of France which has been German on and off for the past 500 years. And is 20 km from Saarlouis, built by the French but now, for sure, once again in Germany:thinking:

pugwash - neighbours. Sorry your location means nothing to me

Re:LGB 2 axle coaches and wagons European prototypes...

Wasserbillig, Luxembourg. House of Nassau (Orange) claimed by everyone except the Aussies since forever. And lots of water, obviously!

Re:LGB 2 axle coaches and wagons European prototypes...

Sorry James for sealing your thread here a bit but Good God  I could throw stones at pugwash from my office in Konz, Germany !

Re:LGB 2 axle coaches and wagons European prototypes...

Those grey hoppers are nice, and Paul/Minimans is good to deal with. About 25% of our LGB collections have come from one another!

Re:LGB 2 axle coaches and wagons European prototypes...

Hi guys - I'm on the look out for another two coaches please... matching ones...

Either the original style LGB bogie coaches (in any livery as I'm repainting them)
LGB_3064neu_copy.JPG

Or curved (non-clerestory) roof 2-axle coaches (again, any livery as I'm repainting them)

These are going to become generic Austrian green with silver/grey roofs and white transfers for the EJ&KLR.
Please PM me if you can help. I'm continuing to trawl ebay but no bargains at the moment. Condition can be used, as long as parts are intact, as I'm respraying.

Re:LGB 2 axle coaches and wagons European prototypes...

Thanks Gareth - but I'm after some without the clerestory roofs so starter set coaches are a no go :(

The clerestory roofs are removable, you just need a couple of ventilators to fill the screw holes.

Re:LGB 2 axle coaches and wagons European prototypes...

Mike that's good to know - thanks.
Still looking though chaps - £80 for a set of starter set coaches seems quite high to me :)

Re:LGB 2 axle coaches and wagons European prototypes...

You can unscrew the clerestory roof and fill in the screw holes, no bother.

Edit: Ah I see Mike (dutchelm) beat me to it

Re:LGB 2 axle coaches and wagons European prototypes...

Hi minimans your reputation as an all round egg seems proven. Having sorted Syd with some geeps I'm cash rich - are the hopper and gondolas(is that the green open wagon just visible??) still available?
Does anybody know whether I will get stung for import duties?
