I used to have this unit in a mogul and it worked fine, I have now fitted it into a 2-4-0 dumpy loco tender and after factory re-set the chuff rate is way to fast. I have messed with the cv's and had it way too slow at a fixed rate but I can't find a happy medium. I am using the lgb reader/programmer and any thoughts on this would be most welcome.

You could always reset it to defaults? CV55 set to 55..

Else:
CV58 to 48
CV59 to 255
CV64 to 82

The latter (CV64) being most important for analog 'chuff' rate.

For digital (no sensor, I presume)..
CV2 (default '0') if sound starts before loco motion, increase value.
CV's 3 and 4 are acceleration and braking respectively (default '3') for without a wheel sensor, and just to confuse, '1' is fast ans '255' is slow.
Then we are back to CV64 (default '82') range is 9-255 and you can tweak this for differing wheel diameter, to get 'chuff' about right.

Cheers Phil, I'll set up again and have a look. Have been into 64 and had a play, get back to you, as you say no sensor and on dcc.

Not a lot of luck with that Phil on ghe wheel diameter etc. Did factory reset the loco decoder as well and it appears marginally better. Appreciate any other ideas.
