I am looking for one of these green four wheel coaches to complete a rake. The coach need not be boxed or in mint condition. There were some quite cheap on the German ebay but my German is pathetic and they do not take Paypal. I cannot buy from America due to the UK heavy customs duty. Any helpful suggestions please.8|

There is no import duty to the UK just VAT at standard rate...........................

2x required coach @ £75 each secondhand at GRS, unless Matt sold them on Saturday, code on grs system seco878 & seco879

Currently shown at £103 each, roughly twice what I can pay..pensioner etc. Thank you for trying though.

Adding £9.50 makes £84.50. I will have to give it a miss at that price, no way could I justify that to my Financial Manager(er indoors). Thanks for your help, I will have to
keep wishing until I can find one cheaper. It does not have to have a box or be mint.

There's one here for 60 euros from a German stockist that I bought some stuff off just a couple of weeks ago - they are very quick, very helpful and they take Paypal. Even with the 17 euro flat-rate shipping, that still makes it about 67 quid all-in.

If there is anything else on their shop site that you want at the same time, or if you can find someone else on the forum who wants something and would share an order with you, then you can save on the shipping - because the 17 euro charge is the same flat rate even if you order several items together. I ordered three pieces of rolling stock, which meant that shipping was around £5 per wagon - pretty good I think!

Glad to be able to help, Derek. Hope it's what you wanted, it's obviously a very old one because it's in a yellow box!
I got my stuff from the same supplier in just a few days, very well packaged and delivered at this end by Parcelfarce. The German guys should send you the DHL tracking details (DHL ARE the German post office now!), put the number into the Parcelforce website and you'll be able to follow the parcel online. Let us all know when you've got it - and good luck telling The Management about it.... ;)

Jon, My eldest is taking us to Towyn for the 60th celebrations on the Talyllyn Railway, a visit to the gift shop there might get me off the hook. Looking forward very much to seeing Dolgoch in all her splendour.

We're going on Sunday. Don't forget the Llechfan garden railway at Towyn station will be running all weekend.

 The coach arrived today, initial disappointment but a rub over with Pledge and it looked great. The only fault is the loss of the little vent caps from the roof but the spurs to hold them are intact, no chance to find them.
The visit to the Talyllyn was great. http://www.talyllyn.co.uk/news/celebrating-60-years-railway-preservation-talyllyn-style I sat Her Majesty in coach 3, bought a hot chocolate for her and said "I am buying a model like this". End of conversation.

?Thanks for your help, Derek.

Glad to hear it arrived safely, Derek - I think it was listed as "3/4" on the seller's quality scale, which means well used and certainly not mint, but not scrap either. I guess that was reflected in the price, while better condition ones were up around the 100 euro mark. When I got my parcel from them, one item (an old orange covered-bin wagon) which had also been marked 3/4 for condition was pretty filthy from outdoor use, but after a good cleanup with some soap and water it looks almost pristine again - I reckoned it was a good buy at just over 20 quid! If you want mint condition from that seller you need items that he classifies as "1" or "1/2", but you'll pay correspondingly more for them.

For the roof vents, most of the various LGB designs are still available as spares from Modell-Land's stocks - their high flat-rate shipping is a problem but if you can share a group order with others (as I've done two or three times now) it works out well. If you don't want to do that, then you can always use some of the push-in plastic screw cover caps from DIY stores (or left over from your last piece of flatpack furniture!) to make very acceptable replacement vents.

Hope you enjoy the coach!
