I'm after a set of bodyside windows for the LGB RhB 2/4 electric loco. A couple of mine broke on removal as they were glued in with styrene cement so I'm a bit stuffed at the moment. The usual suppliers in Germany don't appear to have any. Thanks in advance.

While I can see that modell-land.de is "out of stock" (doesn't that mean they can get more? If it was an obsolete part, wouldn't they remove the listing? **), but using the part number (E261405) from there, it would seem that these suppliers may have them (don't know what their policies are on postage though) . . .

** and modell-land-de offer low-cost postage for purchases under 20 Euros

Hope I've been looking for the right item!

All the best

David

Thanks David.

Good point about they may be able to get more. As you say they would have removed the listing.I think I was a bit guided by the fact that it's not a currently produced model. Anyhoo, I'll ask to be informed if they get some more in stock.

Regards,

Tony.

Another solution would be to carefully cut some plastic to size then put in place with some Glue and Glaze which will hold in place and fill any gaps. It dries clear. Google search this:-

model railway window adhesive and filler

Thanks Jon,

Well that gives me a couple of options. I've got time as I'm still modifying the body of the loco.

Cheers,

Tony.

Out of interest, in what way are you modifying the body of the "box on wheels"? Are you making a new loco or just improving the maker's model?

I'm attempting to convert a 2045 into a freelance electro-diesel loco. I've put an LGB radiator into one bodyside and removed one of the two pantographs on the roof. In the vacant space will go a roof radiator fan. Instead of the existing fixed frame chassis the thing (and that's a kind name for it) will be mounted on two bogies - sort of OBB Class 1245ish,. These have been modified from LGB tender chassis. I didn't mention my intentions for the loco when asking if anyone had bodyside windows for fear of being thrown off the forum for severe model abuse.

You obviously have not seen some of my less 'rational' evilBay purchases!

Your loco to abuse as you wish, some of the liberties I have taken with Piko, LGB and Newquida over the years have not got me chucked out ...... yet,

Nothing wrong with that at all. The ÖBB 1245 looks cool, I just had to investigate:
