Afternoon all

I have a LGB 2-6-2 with a Massoth sound decoder retrospectively added , I run it on MTS3 and the sound isn't operative until I press '6' on the remote , however this no longer works and the loco is silent but runs perfectly , any ideas how to restore the sound and annoy the neighbours again ?

I would suggest a loose connection. Maybe time to take the top off. I too have one of these 2-6-2's with the LGB sound box fitted (I expect that what you have).

Is there a separate volume control which may have been turned down?

Have you tried different positions of the cab-mounted switch?

They are the two most obvious things that come to mind..

Cheers gents, I will have a look

Press 8.. then 6...
Try differnt ways..
6 turns sound on/off
8 turns it off perminantly

Well gents I tried everything listed above with no joy, so I have been running the loco soundless all week , now as some of you know part of my railway is in the garage and I have been know being the lazy person I am to leave loco's on the track in the garage between running sessions , So yesterday I had a testing session with the loco still silent , then I had an afternoon at Carnforth Model railway show, then a pub tea and watched the footy at my local returning for an evening running session, power on and loco is in full sound ! I can't work that one out but celebrated with another beer

I've experienced similar problems, normally after friends have visited and played around with all the buttons on the handset. Now tell them to only use F1 to F4 otherwise they will screw things up.

loose connection perhaps?

Beer and footy Rick, works every time!

Same again today Kim, I've a couple of weeks off so making the most of it, out for an Indian tonight , oh and more beer
