Hi,
trying to Program my 2-10-2 to go to 14 speed steps.
CV29 is set to 0 for the 14 speed steps but the loco will only move off on speed step 5-6..?
Any ideas..
Check cv2, default 5 in the book, as that's the start speed. Other check is cv29 value if bit 5 is set to 16 there is a user set speed curve, you just want a value of 4 in there.
Might need to play with CV 2, which is usually called vMin or vStart. It should allow you to adjust the minimum starting voltage at which the loco moves.
[edit] Ha - 3 near simultaneous replies all saying basically the same thing! [/edit]
Sorted now CV2 altered to 30, runs brilliant now.
One last thing is that the short whistle doesn't sound when it moves off which it does on older models, i get more of a generator whining on mine?
Is this something i can get with CV's or is it due to it being a new loco from Maerklin?
CV2 often must be adjusted, it is affected by the actual track voltage, condition of the motor, etc. Nothing wrong with adjusting it, no harm will come.
