Large Scale shows or exhibitions

There's a couple coming up Kev;

Midlands Garden Railway Show 11-12 March 2023 at the Warwickshire Events Centre, CV31 1FE

National Garden Railway Show 15 April 2023 at the Peterborough Arena, PE2 6XE

Mizzy and I are planning to attend both, going on Sunday for the Midlands Show....

Yes I saw those, unfortunately due to personal reasons we can’t do the dates for the Midlands one and I wasn’t sure whether the one in Peterborough would have enough content to warrant a 5.1/2 hour drive from North Devon. I have found one in Exeter in October but I’ve got itchy fingers and was looking to be inspired before then.

The Peterborough Show is a good one, but I can appreciate it is a long drive away!

I wouldn't normally plan to go to Exeter, unless I just happened to be in the area for some reason....

Google UK Model Shop's..
You can get a month-by-month listing of exhibitions..

Also look at the G Scale Society webby-site, and their area groups listings..

Finally, the 16Millers, are not as sniffy, or scary, as you may think.. ;)

There is also one at Llangollen Sat 13 May 2023, but again, quite a drive for you....

Exeter show is always worth a visit, check out the videos of previous shows on this link.

Exclusively large/garden scales and plenty of traders.

Given distance, events and your apparent urgency my choice would be Llangollen. You can combine that with a holiday to visit all those wonderful railways in north and mid Wales.

If I wanted to get a wide view of product, both 16 mm and "G" scales and operating methods then Peterborough. Nene Valley railway is nearby and more in neighbouring Suffolk and Norfolk. Another holiday trip ?

Sadly I find the Midland show disappointing. Max

It's worth the drive ..

Is there a G Scale Society group close to you? Or even a 16mm Association group (not scaryat all, usually quite pleasantfolk)? Check out the websites, at least you can get a quick fix and meet some like minded people

There are a couple of options in Somerset though not actual shows where you can relieve your itchy fingers with purchases. There is the 16mm line at Woody Bay Station and occasional meets with another 16mm group near Bishops Lydiard. Though 32 mm tracks at both there will be lots of puffers running to perhaps enthuse you, may are gauge convertible between 32 and 45 gauge.
