Been over today. There are some quite nice layouts and plenty of trade. For me the brilliant Hambledon Valley Railway was easily the best layout at the show. This is worth seeing if you like serious modelling. Very impressive control of live steam locos as well.
Pre printed ticket worked well.
Peak Tools had lots of useful stuff at good prices but it took me ages to find the owner so I could pay him.

Popped in this morning. Lots of traders and some nice layouts. Chuffed2bits had a 2nd hand live steam Accucraft GS-4 daylight, pristine - yours for £2,400 (a very good price, really). Oh if I only still had my USAT Daylight set and Aristo' heavy weights.

Was looking at Anything NG's line up. An R/C'ed Accy Joan had me interested (I'd been eyeing it for a few weeks on his site) but could not get Simon to come down to the price I wanted, only about £200 between us. I probably didn't want it enough. Max.

Simon's pricing seems pretty competitive so I expect he has little room to maneuver.

Not long back but not a bad show. As said above plenty of trade, and some good layouts. My favourite was this one, it kept the folk running it on their toes as not a lot was automated, but having worked a mine railway I found it very realistic.



The truck which can JUST be seen in the second pic (behind the conveyor) is r/c driven, backs under the belt for loading from the tippers, and when full trundles down to the weight-bridge of then off out of shot, it then returns empty to the weigh-bridge and back to the belt. for the next load.

Quite possibly but to my eyes 2nd hand pricing for 16 mm locos seems a tad high generally right now.maybe I need to get down to Specsavers. Simon say it's due to the generous prices he pays for the stuff. Well I know where I'm going when I tire of this hobby.

I'd think that 16 mm layout to be rather nice. There was a very well detailed large O layout and 2, not 1, G1 racetracks too. Anybody notice that EU dealer with a flash to out do GRS. A reason to stay in. What's not to like. Max.

Shoulda sed, I bumped into one or two I know from elsewhere, and Mr & Mrs Duffy. Bought a little; coupla point-motors and plates at not too bad a price form Chalk and a coupla figures and some tools. Spent longer driving too and from, than I spent there, but hey ho, at least Stafford is a lot closer next week!
