Does anyone know if there is an online instruction manual for the Lgb Lake George and Boulder locomotive? I have just received one second hand, but have no instructions for it.

You'll have to be more specific. There are two versions. The 2119 is the larger, more scaled one with a non powered tender. The other is the Americanized Stainz type with the powered tender.

That said, I can't help with the actual document. Although there's not much to learn.

Almost all of the locos have links to pdfs of the instrauction manuals and exploded assembly diagrams. Either go by the model number, or the photo that looks most like your loco, if your model is an older type with a 4-digit number there will almost certainly be one there that is still basically the same.

Hi, thanks for the replies. This is my first question since joining the group lsst night, so a quick response was very pleasing. I didnt realise that there was so many different LGB engines out there! The locomotive is actually a 2117D. I believe it was part of starter set. It works fine just needs a little bit of TLC.

It's the tender version of the same "Americanised Stainz"

From what I've read, parts for some of these old models are tricky to obtain, some folk simply recommend picking up another example on ebay as the best option. If it just needs some TLC then good luck, it can be very rewarding to resurrect a faulty loco (just been going through a few of my N gauge fleet this evening sorting out some of the more troublesome beasties that had been put to one side!)
 
Thanks for the diagram ntpntpntp, I will make good use of it. Does anyone know what the metal "lever" is for under the chimney? It has a yellow wire attached to it but doesn't seem to do anything!
 
It's for turning the smoke unit on and off.

You will need to run the loco at a reasonable speed to get smoke.. AND the smoke unit has to have not burnt-out..
 
... AND you'll need a few drops of smoke fluid in the funnel!
 
We have steam! A few drops of oil and all was well. Thanks for the help.. I just need to tidy up the body.

Possibly, but if so it's not obvious and I'm not getting anything by the usual tricks of trying partial URLs to see folder listings etc. It's not a site I regularly use, normally I use Champex-Linden as mentioned in post #3
 
LGB do seem have a huge amount of different models available, plus of course their discontinued models, it isn't really unsurprising that it is hard to locate a lot of their diagrams or catalogue. No doubt someone, somewhere has a fully comprehensive list, but as ntpntpntp says it not easy to locate!
