I wanted a small halt on the Ardnacraish Light Railway, for operational interest and, more importantly, to cover up a block used by wifey as a stepping stone to the border. A raid on the box under the workbench produced the following:

Korber kits for a lineside hut and a station canopy (built for the earlier US incarnation of the line)
The base from an Aristocraft station (the building is being modified and re-roofed for Ardnacraish)
Some Life-like fencing
Bits of Pola paving
A bench from Back to Bay6

With a bit of cutting and filing, and repainting into the ALR's West Highland-ish colour scheme, we have Bankfoot halt:

Mr Urquhart, from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, awaits his train to Ardnacraish, on his way to check on the fishing fleet:

Not initially, Steven. The hut had been outside for 7 years before I repainted it, and had faded/weathered nicely. So I'll let Mother Nature have a go first.

Thanks for the kind words, chaps. I've still to add a nameboard and a couple of small items, like fire buckets.

So it's not so much a station as a Border Crossing?

Must be some sort of tax advantage to being so close to the frontier....

Passports required to get into Scotland, Gizzy - Hadrians wall no longer keeps the Sassenachs out.
