Now that my wife lets her chickens roam free in the garden for most of the day the railway has taken a battering and I have not run it this year. The `mind your own business` is thriving though so this is a posed pic of my model of JGR no70, a G.E.44 tonner that was sold to JGR by the USATC in 1950. It is of course a repaint of a USAT item. I must get around to fabricating the missing handrails sometime...

Nice loco!

Just a quick thought to help with the handrails...

Mike at Charles Ro Supply Co. deals with all the USAT spare parts, and is exceptionally helpful. It is normally quite easy to get the spare items you are looking for as they seem to keep a pretty solid inventory of bits and pieces. It might be worth a call to source them as spares?

The only main down side is sometimes it isn't the cheapest option, but then you do get exactly what you are looking for.

Best wishes,
Gavin

Garden Railways and Chickens just don't mix.

It's funny how when ours ran loose they never strayed on SWMBO's side of the garden, always went straight for the railway an churned up all sorts of rubbish over the line.

Ours are now locked away in a sizeable run. They do still get let out occasionally, but under supervision ;D ;D

Loving that Loco BTW

nice loco Philip

we had to change from bark chips to slate because of our chickens
even so they still manage to disrupt procedings
wrong type of chickens, I suppose
