For those who want to dispense with their #s or $s, have a look at this. I sometimes wonder if I should have been in the miniature building business instead of the real thing. I wouldn't have to travel to work or put up with all sorts of weather. Climb ladders and scaffolding. Eat dust ! Put up with know it all architects and engineers, etc.

Anyone who wants something similar need only to ask. For the price this outfit is asking I would be more than happy to accommodate you and ships it free !

Nice model but insane price....
I've bought two Harz stations (Drei Annen Hohne and Ilfeld) from this very nice chap in Germany:

at a much more sensible price.... OK, they were still around £500 each but I considered that to be good value for the amazing work that goes into them....
Jon.

That link wont come up on eBay UK. :shake:
Try these ones:

Hmmm, odd, the original link works fine for me... but thanks for posting the alternative ones to help others who might have the problem!

Jon.

When I click on it, I only get the seller but no listings. It might be because of my down under post code which is also displayed on the page.
They are nice buildings for those who want something a little different with some cash to splash.

Ha! What a shame he doesn't deliver to Ireland roflmao.gif

So you will quite happily spend that much on a hand-built loco, but a bespoke, hand-built building to compliment your railway. - To your design, remember.. It would take a while to split down the shingles, you consider beneath consideration?

Ask Dan how much work there would be in producing one of these..

I've been building a canopy to cover two tracks and half a platform approx 5' long 2' wide spent about 30 hours on it so far including cutting up wood and assembly. I reckon on about the same amount of time or more to finish it.

Greg might buy it for $4,200 bargain. ;)

Greg. A 'bargain' is in the eye of the purchaser not the seller.
I think you will find that most hobbyists and crafts people in general are lucky to make half of $70 per hour.

There would be a considerable amount of time spent, in creating a structure such as the one I posted about. Certainly, I as a craftsman would not deny another tradesman his just due. My point was to compare my trade as a carpenter to the trade of model builder. I would have loved to make a living building such things.

But, now you have finished the kitchen, and garage doors...
;)
