Looks like the interior fittings are also missing......that must be the 0.1% making up the 100%

Well at least the're consistent with the descriptions - even though they don't apportion the percentages correctly!
 
They're a bunch of sh**s and, as Mick has said, they use the same description for every locomotive.

Their 'cop-out' line is that the pictures form part of the description

yeah, 99.9% mint is in direct contradiction with this:

"Model Condition: Very good - aesthetically excellent however the body is also currently loose from the chassis and the headlights need re-affixing. The previous owner has done some modification work so the loco does needs a little tinkering "

anything loose or out of place does not even qualify for "mint"... what if the real mint (that makes paper money) said that the paper money is 99.9% mint, just missing some of the printing?

Yep, I'd think long and hard about buying anything from that seller.

I did buy something once (but cannot remember what!!!!!). Not related to the purchase, I messaged that I thought I knew the guy's mother (based on the knowledge of where his business was previously operated from in West Yorkshire). He didn't even reply. His mother (if she was) was a nice lady.

Don't worry Greg, they've got a couple of Bachmann Connies which are 99.9% mint and have both got broken gears.

and they have an alleged USAT combine with a lump of plasticard in the floor holding one bogie mount, and I think this one is in 'excellent' condition.

Judging by the way stuff is hanging around, I reckon they've probably been rumbled by most hobbyists.

The strange thing is that the also market a range of Gauge 1 coaching stock (UK outline).

Someone in the company isn't living in the real world :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
 
In defence of this ebay seller (Ellis Clark), in my experience they post plenty of good quality photos of the item for sale, they might be selective in their wording but they do list the faults, they respond to questions promptly even post sale, their postage charges are reasonable and they pack things carefully. They are not a specialist in G scale, and I suspect they rely on the person they bought it from for most of the info. They sell the whole range of model railway scales, but they sometimes have LGB bargains. I would buy from them again.
