insert pics by URL - how?

first time since the new forums-software, i tried to post a pic that is stored in my webspace.

opening the picture-icon - with, or without typing the http:// part, and typing ubication and pic name, the program told me, that something went wrong.

do i need special instructions, or some magic spells, or is the feature not functional?
 
Click the insert picture icon, and change the mode to insert link, small graphic at the top of the insert picture box

opening picture icon, selecting "By URL". typing URL of pic, controling for typos, clicking on "insert"
result:
"Something went wrong. Please... "

this is one of the pics, that do not load:

the webspace is in germany, so it shouldn't be my hillbilly location.
(or does the Brexit go THAT far?)

Thats very odd, i edited your post copied the url and inserted , works as it should, i will have to investigate more.
 
well, this is the answer i got after reporting, that still i am not able to post pics that are stored at Grossbahn - largetrains - largescale modeltrains layout - IIm Modellbahn Anlage:

that answer is unsatisfactory.

either we do things differently, or we have "different" accounts.

i do as follows:
click on the icon for pictures
click on the icon for "by URL"
typing or pasting the entire URL (including th "http://") into the space with the blinking cursor.
click on "insert"
read the "failed" message


i use FirefoxESR 52.9.0 (32-bit)
on XP SP3
