Thats what I thought but when i sent the photo to them they replied that they could not help and could not identify the unitTimpdon Electronics, now owned by Fosworks....
they could not ... identify the unit
thanks David thats just the information I need I will be able to identify it that way, I was surprised Fosworks could not help me as they are the owners now of timpdon I have now identified the unit from this list Many thanks for your helpThen you may have no choice but to work your way through all the manuals archived on the Timpdon Electronics site (at http://www.timpdon.co.uk/timpdon/telec/downloads.htm?x=66&y=14)
All the best
David
It was the red wire you dislodged? What do you want to achieve?
The disconnected wire is the positive battery power input to the MyLocoSound card.. - Connect it to battery positive.
The 'black box' is a Timpdon Ultrarad unit..
PhilP.
I am trying to find out which unit it is. ie what voltage input does it use is it a URC11 l 7 to 15 volt or a URC11 H 12 to 24 volt and also what the terminals at the end are as I cant read them Aux 2, Aux 1, O V, ?, ?. ?.What do you want to achieve?

I see your problem, the live wire still connected to the Sound Card (a My Loco Sound one) that has come detached from what appears to be the speed controller which is a Timpden one. Though I have a Timpden setup hereI am trying to find out which unit it is. ie what voltage input does it use is it a URC11 l 7 to 15 volt or a URC11 H 12 to 24 volt and also what the terminals at the end are as I cant read them Aux 2, Aux 1, O V, ?, ?. ?.
Thanks Philp This is every helpful, I am concerned that if I put in the wrong voltage in it may damage the unit. not enough wont hurt I think but will too much damage it. my other battery locos run on 18 voltsCan't help with which model, but does it matter? - Are you wanting to use more than a 15V supply?
Connections (as viewed):
Aux. 2
Aux. 1
0V. negative battery supply
Motor

Positive battery supply

Yes you are right I run on a 14 cell battery pack and have never had a problem Thank you so much for all your help and advice. What a great hobby to be in with so many helpful people willing to share there knowledge.18V is 15 NiMH (1.2V) cells..
Guessing you are more likely to be running on either 14 cells (16.8V) or 16 cells (19.2V)?
As a 'good' fully-charged NiMH cell can be 1.5V, these could be (up to) 21V or 24V respectively..
If you were to fit a 12-cell battery pack, you would be fairly safe. Depending on the charger you use, it may well cope with the difference, and a 12-cell pack may well give you an adequate top-speed for the loco concerned.
I have not 'laid-bare' a TImpdon unit, so am not able to comment on how much headroom there is on the smaller unit.
Perhaps an email to TImpdon (if Graham is still connected with the business) could ascertain if there is a visible physical difference between the two units? - Explain the label has been obliterated in use.
