I have a decision to make.

Sarah, I have read that the LGB 0-6-0 diesel isn't as good a puller as the equivalent LGB 0-4-0 diesel.
I have the blue 'Ludwig Gross-Betriebe' version of the 0-6-0 but disassembled needing new wheels so I can't test.
I can say though that the 0-4-0 version I have (repainted Breyers Ice Cream) is a very smooth runner.
Perhaps you should look into the running characteristics before making a decision.

I wouldn't worry, I've had a couple of the 6 wheel ones in the past and they run just fine - anyway, with a small track and a limited number of items of rolling stock I don't think Sarah is going to be worried about particularly long trains....
In any case, I think that an earlier post indicated that the purchase of the diesel has already been made.

Jon.

Good to know. At least Sarah won't have to worry about adding DCC to the other one.
My blue 0-6-0 was run down to brass. I found some suitable replacement wheels online from a larger LGB diesel.

Quite a few of LGBs 0-6-0s use this same motor block. Its well and truly tested. Weight varies quite a bit though.
