I have been bequeathed several items I would like to sell. I have no idea what they are or how much I would advertise them for.
I am just wondering if there is anyone who lives near me who could help with identification of items or suggest somewhere that would help me. I am located close to Heathrow airport. Many thanks.

Assuming that they are railway related, I should imagine that posting photos on here would help in identification.

(In fact, knowing of the range of interests, even if they are not railway related, somebody might be able to identify them.)

As Playmofire says, there's always some who will point you in the right direction. Pictures will be required though

I live about 10 miles west of Heathrow. I'd be willing to come and have a look. Send me a message on this system (personal message or conversation) if you're interested.

Hi. I have only just seen this message but yes I'd be very grateful if you could help me. I have already sold most of my late husband's trains etc and now just have some odd bits left that I would like to sell but have no idea what they are.
I live in Wraysbury.

Okay I'll send you a private message do we can discuss details. If you're not familiar with those you will see a red mark next to what looks like an envelope icon at the top of the website home page. Click on that and you will see my message, and you can reply to me in the same way you post messages on this thread.

A quick update on this. I finally got to meet up with T Teacher7792 (Linda) yesterday to review what she had left from her husband's collection. As some may know she has sold many items on here, and has I think recently advertised a white Circus Stainz which is the only complete piece of rolling stock left. What is left is rather an odd mix, much of it not G scale.

There is a collection of motor blocks, some with running gear some without, and a few small steam loco bodies. The motor blocks are mostly LGB Stainz or Otto, but there is a Playmobil lurking in there as well. We couldn't test them but some of them look virtually new. Picture below.

Then there is a collection of unmade 009 scale metal kits, see picture below.

Finally there is this Lionel/Hallmark Cards loco, 773 Hudson. It is unused in original packaging. I can't work out what scale it is, it seems too big for HO but too small for O. I don't know if it is just a shelf queen (it comes with elaborate perspex show case and moulded track) or it is meant to run. Picture below. It comes with a certificate of authenticity and claims to be one of no more that 29,500! It might appeal to someone.

There is a large collection of parts including many Slater's metal wheel sets, which seem to include 32mm and 45mm, and a Helmsman controller but again we couldn't determine if that was in working order or not. I think this lot is off to Garden Rail Specialists in Princes Risborough.

Contact T Teacher7792 if you have an interest. I think any reasonable offer will be accepted!

The Peco white metal 009 bodies might have a value, as Peco have announced that they are to cease manufacture of them :nod:
