Hello Les, and welcome to GSC! As everyone on here will tell you, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.... Whatever you want to know, somebody here will have an answer for you!

We do always like to know what new members are up to (we're a nosey lot....), so even if you don't have any pictures yet, please tell us what you're into - in the G scale sense, of course, the rest is your business..... :D

Where I am, here in Ottawa, we have a whole lot of Scots, but none of them are Model Railroaders, in any scale...sad...if you guys are going to send your "Surplus" Scots over to Canada, send some Large scale model railroaders, in the assortment; don't keep them all to yourselves over there....:smirk:

Are the "Surplus Scots" labeled, or at least barcoded in some way, so that viewing them at a glance, would give some idea if they are related to "Railroaders", or could be converted to the belief in steel wheel on steel rail ?
So far, none that I meet, even face to face, seem at all interested in "Railroading" of any type, or colour. Scale and gauge are lost on them. Even their taste, or acceptance of Scotch Whisky, is out of their knowledge experience, in most cases. (Sad)
Maybe with the expansion of so-called "Free Trade" between GB, and Canada, proper identification will become mandatory...

Love to see the newbies. I'm one of'em and have made lots of mistakes.
But hey I had a great teacher, my Dad.
He was always making mistakes and failures as he was a Bio chemist for duPont at the experimental station in Delaware. Was into all kinds of stuff that later came onto the market. He let me freeze roses in the liquid nitrogen tank and smash them with a hammer. Lots of fun:) That stuff was 2 degrees above absolute zero.
