It almost looks a 'home-brew' item??
You do need a more sophisticated decoder to make these worthwhile IMHO.. The additional control, and 'soundscape' with the Zimo decoder should be giving Massoth sleepless nights..

1000$ smoke unit? Nope, the first one is home made from bits and pieces, the 2nd is USAT. The locos, on the other hand may cost about that.

Talking of 'great smoke'..
We were given some 'aeromodeller' smoke oil.. Apparently they pump it straight into their engines ?? to get the effect.
Produces really good smoke BUT I reckon it would kill you in a confined space!! ???

This is a typical one aspirated 24 volt job....
