Well, probably one benefit of the carp weather is getting some jobs finished.

About 3 years ago :rofl::rofl:.................
I purchased my second item of Fn3 rolling stock - a flat car

I suppose the clue is in the question, it was....erm.....how d'you say? well.........flat actually, plain and lacking in impact

Then I had a cunning plan :eek:nphone: - and Netty sent me a bit of plastic pipe :clap::clap:

The mine tubs are resin bodies made by a madder who was going Gn15, Tallylyn axle boxes from Cambrian Models, Hornby wheels, Stevetheshop's Real Rust; the loco chassis is a Minitrains dockside tank (at £9.99 cheaper than scratchbuilding) with working front/rear lights and a plasticard cab and Netty's pipe for a compressed air boiler/cylinder.

Then the trouble started, and I couldn't get the front of the cylinder right, so it's shrouded in mystery under a tarp.

So wot did you do on your bank holiday ? :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Ah, forgot to add

The chains and ratceht tensioners are P&J Models from Kent Garden Railways.

These are great things, and come complete with tension springs that you hide under the wagon to keep the chains tight :clap::clap:

That mug has made me laugh out loud in the office!!! Excellent modelling on the flat car too - love the load.

Question - what is the diesel that's pulling the train? Looks vaguely IoM Schoma -ish? but on an 0-6-0 outside framed chassis?

Ah, I can explain :cool:
You're dead right, James - it's a Worsley Works etch of the IoM Schoema Diesel 'Viking' which I insulted and abused by giving it a US type livery and putting it on a very non-US 6-coupled whizzy crank chassis (IP Engineering) running on battery power.

The original build was a long story, getting it to run for a decent length of time was achieved a couple of years ago. :clap:

It's photo used to be so common, that if anybody asked what it was, someone else could get the answer in before me :rofl:
