German signal lever frame colours

I am building a signal lever frame for my layout, Deutsche Bundesbahn era, and I am trying to find out what if any were the colours of the signal levers? Like in UK, point levers were black, home signals red, distant signals yellow, facing point locks blue, etc. Anyone know or can point to a reference?

Not sure but I have only ever seen red and blue, Also all in black. They are usually of the German turnover type - not levers like we are used to. German systems use two wires and they are attached to a wheel type lever to pull either wire to reverse the signal or point.
It probably wont matter for your box but German interlocking is quite different to UK methods - using a route system, i.e. when a route is fully set the locking lets you pull off a signal. Have a look here for a German signal box.

Thanks Alan, very nice article. I can see half way down that article a picture in B&W that seems to show different colours for signals and points, are they the red and blue you mentioned? I'll have another go to see if I can find a colour picture of the inside of a box. Cheers,

I think that picture is from the "Miljoenenlijn' in Simpelveld, Limburg, the Netherlands. It is the only fully operational mechanic signalled line. Wonderful!!

The red labels on the right of the photo read 'GEVAAR' (= Danger in English)

you got everything right only the Wiechenhebel is a Weichenhebel
cause points are Weichen just in case you are looking
for this term in the internet
