Garden Railway Specialists Kerr Stuart 0-4-2 saddle tank kit.

oh......the spare otto......

why dont you do a 4-4-0 bash like gareth? :admire:

love it Mel
nice understated lining
forget the display case, get it in the Narrows :]

As Paul says - run it, man.

It's too nice to be stuck in amongst the ornaments on the shelf.

Don't get me wrong, this is very much a working loco (at least when the weather is less likely to freeze your bits off!!), but when they're not running my loco's live in the garage either on a shelf unit or on the engine shed diorama. The wife seems to have taken pity on this one and allowed it to live in the house. Who am I to argue??

Well, alright then.

As long as you don't put it next to that tacky "Souvenir of Clacton" that Auntie Flo gave you.
Even a small industrial loco has feelings....

Looks a damn good finish there Mel, does it run smoothly. Sometimes the Otto's can be a bit lumpy but a good greasing usually overcomes the problem

I really like that. Very well done. GRS have some very interesting kits. I fancy trying some. Just worked out that I have 17 unfinished projects though, so I need to live vicariously on your project!

Never had a problem with them mate, other than the usual with track power. Of course, that's not an issue with battery . This one is a little tight (the chassis had never been run), but is smooth as silk and will loosen up as it gets run in. As per usual, removing all of those brakes ........... errrrr ........ I mean pick-ups helps.

Very nice job, Mel  Alyn

Hi Alyn .

The spectacle rings arrived from IP over the weekend. These were quite a bit bigger than the originals, so the holes had to be reemed out - definitely something that I would NOT recommend on a finished model. Just waiting on the number and nameplates now.

I've also been making this coach from an IP kit. I bought it at the Porthmadog show in May, but you can't rush these things can you? The colour scheme is inspired by the Talyllyn, although the red is darker than they use. Unlike the GRS kit, these newer IP coach kits are excellent and pretty easy to build.

With the arrival of the nameplates (courtesy of GRS) this morning No.1 is finally complete. Llewellyn is named after Lord Llewellyn, the WGLR's first benefactor.
The weathering is considerably darker in reality than it looks in this photo.

VERY nice Mel - inspiration as always!
BTW - are the lamp brackets your own addition?

Rik
