That was never proven........I was miles away at the time....Attending Mardi Gras with Fidel Castro....

The fact that I was in the next room when the Auckland metro system also went tights up at rush hour has been formally ascertained. However, no blame could be pinned then either.

(I'm glad I am a legend, it makes my 11 years "in the trenches" all worth while!)
 
I've been busy painting gluing and modifying my CAD errors to make everything fit. I'm going to try the salt weathering method hence the weathering undercoat on the cab.

Here's the fist headstock glued up and you've got to love the colours. The holes weren't supposed to be holes, it was intended to engrave the locations on the surface and then glue on the jewels, to fix this I'm looking at using 2mm rod to act as rivets.

I have to buy some 2mm rod for the rivets but I couldn't resist giving the side frames and headstocks a blast of primer to see how the laser etched detail looked. I'm pleased with how both the couplers and the axle box springs turned out.

This is looking really good....... very tempted to do something in 7/8 one day, as The Memsahib collects 1/12 dolls house stuff and there is a huge crossover of useful bits..... ;)

For what exactly, Phil? She uses dozens of different suppliers for all sorts of bits and pieces, plus buys a lot of stuff at DH shows..... entirely depends on what you want - figures, animals, furniture, food and drink, gardening tools, workshop tools, garden sheds, greenhouses, if you can think of it then someone probably makes it..... ;)

The DH industry is MASSIVE compared with our "little" hobby, and some of its fans are just as rabid and slavering as the worst of ours, just with more wimminfolk. I've been to some of the shows.... they are both fascinating and scary at the same time, though I suppose in some ways that is a perfect description of the fairer sex in general.... :rofl:

Looking to equip a station building... Some furniture (trivial to find), typewriter, telephone(s), some light fittings, and small table lamps ( a la buffet car tables, for the small ones.. A working standard lamp, a Belfast-type sink with taps, a credible version of an enamelled tea 'kettle' and mug for a footplate.. The list goes on..

Hi Phil,

Right, I asked the question of The Management for you, and got this reply: best place to start is the eBay category "Dolls and Bears", then the sub-category "Dolls' Miniatures and Houses" (which filters out all the large toy dolls and stuffed bears) - then just look through the many, many sub-sub-categories or just search by the name of what you want (eg: metal teapot, butler sink etc.). MOST of what's listed is 1/12 by default, but do double check the scale if it's not obvious as there will be 1/24 and 1/48 etc. in there too. You can find just about anything, if you've never looked before then you'll be amazed.... There are all sorts of different prices and levels of quality too, so you can pretty much pay what you want depending on the level of detail you need. All the sort of things you mentioned should be available, there are some really lovely little bits and pieces like enamelled tea mugs, all that sort of stuff.
Lights are plentiful, in a myriad of styles, some for wiring to 12volts and some self-contained with an LED run off a tiny integral button cell.
I'm not sure where you are located, but it's worth checking for a local DH show - they are all over the place, there are half a dozen regular ones within easy reach of us here in North Essex, I'm sure there will be some quite near you.

The Memsahib was quite interested in your query, and said that if there is any specific piece that you want, she's happy to look for one for you - or may even have something already in the vast collection of bits and pieces bought "for when they might come in handy" - really, they're just like us...... ;)

Still very much a 'work in progress', I'm told...... looking good. It may just be allowed to run on the Taita Gorge Railway :D.
