So the guys in Australia had a problem accessing the forum for the last few weeks.

The problem was with something called CDN (Content delivery network) this is a system that lets web sites deliver the web site from loads of servers throughout the world, it would seem that the CDN servers for parts of Australia just stopped working, so i have turned off the whole CDN system for now.

I will look to take on a new CDN probably Amazon as they are the best at most things and we use them for other sites with no issues.

Hope you have better results with Amazon.....they don't deal with down under now............!!!!!!!!!
 
I have changed the attachments to Amazon CloudFront.

Let me know how you get on with just attachments being delivered that way, if no issues i will swap more bits.
 
I have had no problems whatsoever, other than during heavy usage times when it doesn't load fully on first try.

I use my Mobile phone tethering for internet access. My provider is Aldi who offers connection via Telstra 4g.

Just an obersavation...

All my posts on my railway thread in the G scale pictures section from the 8th onwards, have sort of gone, you carn't see them in the thread, but they exist in my postings list on my profile, just carn't access them.
It even shows on the thread list that I made a post yesterday evening, but it's not there to view.

Update..

Had a look at a few other threads, it's a bit hit an miss, some appear up to date, other have lost a fair few pages, Mike looks to have lost everything from page starting Sept 2017 to date, might tie in with my last page starting in Aug 2017.

I keep getting the 'testing testing RHB thread coming up with page 16 as 'unread'..

I have logged out and back in.. Still the same. - I 'read' trough to page 17, then go to 'New Posts' and it appears in the list again.. :(:think:

Re-Index?? Perhaps???
 
Whatever it is Phil, has me baffled, mind that is easy.

Not too concerned form myself can easily re hash it if I have to, but Mike's stops at page 146 in Oct last year, and given his rate of postings, got to be at least another 40/50 pages + by now.
 
Despite thinking earlier that all was good, I still keep getting the various icons at the page top being replaced with the little rectangles...... :(

While I didn't have any acess problems (as I was traveling the past 2 weeks and didn't try,) I did get 3 summary emails this week. [ Last week's most popular topics (from G Scale Central) ]. I got 2 on Friday, one a slightly different format from the other, and one (as normal) today.

I take it you are tweaking the forum software and those were just a result of testing?
