Hi I am installing a Massoth pulsed smoke unit into my LGB Mikado 2-8-2 locomotive which has factory fitted MTS and sound. I have already fitted a Massoth pulsed smoke unit into my LGB Sumpter Valley Mallet in which I tapped a "Y" connection off the factory fitted wheel sensor for the CLK and GRD connections. However on the LGB Mikado there are 2 leads each with 3 wires, one coming from either side of the wheel sensor board. Does anybody know which one is the chuff sensor (or are they both chuff sensors)? If only one is the chuff sensor then what is the other lead? Any help much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark, I think you will find that there is one wheel sensor and two reed switches, hence the two sets of 3 wires. One set for the wheel sensor and one for the reed switches.

Thanks for that, any way of telling which side is which?

I think (based on the service diagram) that the right hand is the pulse generator. One way to find out.... disconnect one and if it still chuffs then the other is the pulse generator! Reconnect and disconnect the other and try again to confirm.
