i think, this might be the most adequate section for benchbuilding, backgrounds and so on.

so here we go.

while i have some experience in making backgrounds for theaters, i never had some real background at a railroad layout.

the wall is rough, (no plaster) and painted in sky-blue.
my wife said, she is prepaired to paint it again in sky blue, if i mess up.

below you see the wall, and below that a crude sketch, what i am planning to do.
this evening i will take off the bridge and cover the track. (here it is still saturday)
tomorrow i'll start to make a mess.

daylight is gone, the hogwarts-express chuggs along on tv - and i am finished.

it is not what i hoped for, but it is more than i expected.

the middleground under the arches has to wait for another off-duty weekend.

no, it was an empty space between our small supermarket and our house. i just had to put a roof on it, and some additional walls.

the whole room is 20 meter (67') by 5 meter (17')
but as part of it serves as smoker's exile salon, i got 14 meter(47') by 5 meter (17') for my trains and workspace.

a skip?? - are you a relative of my wife?
my problem is space - the lack of.
what should i throw out? the toys? the tools? or the materials?

yes, nico, what keeps me busy is moving the things aside, that shall be integrated into the layout - to make space to build the layout....

this question i can answer with a definite "NO".
i define a collector as somebody, who is interested in one or various type of objects, and actively tries to get them. while i just can't part with things, i might be able to use in the future.
so hamster (or even packrat) would be more to the point. :D

well, i got an excuse.
my remoteness.
i have to buy things i plan to use sometime, when i can get them.
(just waited four days for a couple of 1mm drills)

rubbish or not - i found out, that for repairs i always need just that thing, my wife threw away the week before...
