This is going to be absolutely cracking! So simple, but with everything in proportion (unlike Zmate & Meself) I can see it in a year when it has settled and Mo' Nature has been in, neat . Two thumbs up from me :thumbup:

no such thing - it looks excellent
impressive start, and I bet it won't stay that size for long :)
 
It's running ever so well marshman, considering that it's only a short wheelbase 0-4-0 and my track laying leaves a lot to be desired!
I'm very impressed with the lack of stalling. It's even managing the points well. My OO ones are forever coming to an unscheduled, abrupt halt :wits:.

The caboose body will be turned into a brightly coloured station building and the chassis is being converted to an open coach (well, that's the plan, anyway).

Please don't tell the missus that if I remove the sleeper, I can extend into the flower bed without any problems. :rolf:

Ooops, missed the second page of posts...:o: Thanks for the kind words. I'm having problems trying not to spam every other layout thread with 'Brilliant, excellent' type postings. I hope you all understand.

Had read they were good little movers.Will have to get one but will need to dispose of some of my stock first. Your track laying is of a very good standard as is the track plan. Will be watching progress with interest, you have already given me some thoughts as to how i want to develop my own railroad in the future.Bit of a mish mash at present, need to concentrate the mind.
 
Like everyone says...The only way is up.Its a great hobby,a distraction from lifes stresses,and you can stop and start with it,as and when you like...Happy Garden Railroading !!

Today was a fine day for working outside and as I'd done all my 'chores' :thumbup:, I did some work on the railway. Laid a very weak mix of sand and cement for the roadway and used some old lava rocks from an old gas barbie to edge it with.

My idea is to have it as a multi-purpose layout - this is the 'lumber yard' mid-week configuration:

The week-end config will feature the wagon in the foreground being used as a carriage (after I've made the seats) to take trippers around the track to 'travel on a narrow guage railway' and also offer a 'driver for a fiver' experience :laugh:. I'm sure you can tell that it's a scratch built superstructure on the old Bacchy Caboose chassis. (Just for info: I've glued a sheet of lead under the floorboards because it had a tendency to de-rail which I think was caused by lack of weight)

Once the order from Hong Kong arrives, there should be some people! :bigsmile:.

The weekend 'grab the tourist £' running on the lumber yard railway.

A coach turned up, the weather was fine and a good time was had by all...
