Filcris down, track down, but how to fix the ballast?

The rubber chips are also used as an equestrian all-weather exercise-yard surfacing..
 
I build those Phil. That's how I ended up reading about recycling rubber tyres.

Just beware: Rowlands Mix can work a bit too well: I have a lawn which is full of moss, so lots of spores, presumably. Sometimes I have to clear the moss so I can run trains, and in winter it can freeze solid. I've swapped to horticultural grit for the running line, keeping Rowlands for the stations where I want that Isle of Man 'earth ballast to the rail top' look.
