Exeter Garden Railway Show Sat 31st October

Hope to be there about 2pm, meeting a new member of GSC who is planning a railway

I've hitched the wife to the horse and cart, I've got the nosebag on and we're heading West in about an hour.

jenny and i will be setting off on friday..

Safe journeys all you guys travelling long distances to Exeter. There seem to be quite a few GSC folks going, I guess I might recognize Mike. ;)

Yet again too far for me. Feels like I'm half a world away from the action :( Oh that's right I am half a world away

Please post lots of piccies, I do enjoy at least seeing what's at these shows.:)

The Exeter Show was very busy during the morning: the crowds eased in the afternoon allowing a closer scrutiny of what was on offer on the various traders stands. An interesting show where I did manage to buy some items from Swift Sixteen and a R3 sized point (brass rail) from GRS (UK). I did pick up, just to look at, some Aristocraft cars but did not buy them as I have more than enough already. I did not reaize I could be so strong willed! ;)

I was a great pleasure in meeting, face to face, both Mike (GScaleSociety supremo - or something like that) and his wife Jenny. Another great surprise was Mel (YB258) who was also there. I did look out for any other GSC'ers but did not meet any.

I was glad that I was able to attend this year as the previous year was not on the cards.

I'm very sorry we couldn't make it in the end, due to one of our party being unwell.....
Glad to hear it was a good show though!

Jon.

Who took a camera?

Well, I took one, but as so much had been present in previous years I didn't bother to take any more pictures. The hall did clear around lunchtime, probably due to a continuous stream of old geezers exiting with big boxes and even bigger smiles. (As my wife put it)!

There were one or two cameras on exhibitors set ups I noticed. I do not have a camera, other than one my older type mobile 'phone. The Show, to my mnd, is usually much of a muchness, so as to speak, so I see little to photograph. I go for 'bits and pieces' and to meet up with those whom I know. My railroad inventory is too large as it is and 1:29, my preferred scale, is not that prolific there anyway.
