I assume you're using Aristocraft/USA trains fishplates. If so it's 2mm - obtainable from any good hardware shop.

Buy several, being that small, breakages are almost certain.

Yep 2mm - you can probably buy a pack of 5 or 10 on line.

S'worth buying a few because, no matter how careful you are, you've only got to get the drill a tad out of line in yer hand and .................. you join the rest of us
