Hi Folk,

Just having a look at all the different areas we have on the forum, do you think its right as is? i added Trams last week as that is a separate subject to electric trains which it was combined with.

Should we have more distinct areas to help split subjects up?

Or maybe :

German/European
British (were not european!)
American

with sub categories under each one?

Please have a discussion about how you see things operating to make things better for each of you.

Paul

I suppose it might be an idea to have a more cohesive structure..

The problem with going too granular, is you would miss the nuggets you see, because you are 'not interested' in a particular area..

My personal problem, is indexing, and how to catalogue/find all the useful information that I know is here somewhere.. That is if I ever get a supply of round-tuit's!!

I go along with what Phil said.
It would be good to see the separate sections....but......
Although I model American outline, I might, if there were distinct sections, tend to quickly glean the US stuff and not see the great bits form the Euro and British outline modellers.

But of course the 'new posts' would bring those other 'world' section posts into view, at least for a short time.

For posterity, perhaps there could be an archiving system for the Euro, British and US posts so that any really useful stuff could be indexed away for future easy access research......

A tidy up - phew - sharrafter go and lie down even at the thought :whew::whew::whew::whew::whew:

I don't think I'd know where to start, although perhaps the new layout leads to a different style of thinking - the old layout suited the old categorisation, but hey, I'm fairly cool, even if I did miss some bargain carriages in the sales section :shake::shake::shake::shake:

Oh and don't mention to Lisa that i mentioned the words Tidy Up...........

I would prefer fewer topics overall. Splitting things up makes the information too fragmented to either follow or look up later.
So, combining the full sized stuff - great:clap:

Too late, boss. They know you know
Anyway I think Stockers is right and too much splitting of core sections of the hobby will eventually lead to disintegration.
Let's keep it as it is, please

I would leave well alone, all this talk of separate sections for European, British or American, has already disenfranchised our members with Australian, New Zealand, Caribbean or Irish railways, etc.

David

Excellent, we shall leave as it is now, with the minor changes that have been made.
