Must say I'm waiiting for my Ragleth to arrive from DJB in the next few weeks will be my second coal fired loco. Purchased a gas fired Ragleth, ran it in and then arranged to have a bolier fitted, with drain cocks whistle etc,as soon as it comes back I will post some pics and all for under £2K. Got into coal firing last year, great fun, average runs with my current loco between 1-1.5hrs.
If one thing I have learnt is keep a good deep fire and the rest comes with a little practise of keeping a steady feed of water to the bolier.
From what I have learnt from other users is that all the current coal fired loco's are good value for money and good runners. the choice is down to what you want the loco to look like.
